Secondary Master Such as HHC 375 and 275 can talk to the devices even in the multidrop mode,It can understand HART even the device is not in analog signalling.
Some of the calibration step which requires the loop to be put in fixed current can't done in multidrop unless all the devices are disconnected.

( Note this is for HART5 only hart 6 is a different funda !!!!!.)

As far I have seen most hosts throws error "device in multidrop mode" when calbration is done in multidrop mode
