I don't know much about Hyperterm, but perhaps somewhere you can find Use Hardware Flow Control (RTS/CTS). In my setup, if I choose Direct to COM1, it is under Port Settings. Or if I choose a real modem, it is under Connection / Advanced. I would expect this setting to make Hyperterm switch RTS on to send and off to receive. (But I am not sure!) The switch off has to be quite fast, to be ready for the HART device's reply.Does your protocol analyser see the Hyperterm transmitted command, and then a reply from the field device? Is your problem only that you cannot receive the reply in Hyperterm, or is it that there *is* no reply?
