The setup you need is: 1200 bps, 8 data bits, odd parity, one stop bit. You will have to start with command #0 to identify the device, so you know the Unique ID to use as address for later commands. Some (not very tidy - sorry!) documents on my website at www.romilly.co.uk/charcoding.doc, /hartstructure.doc, /comzero.doc and /deviceinfo.doc will help you with the details.

I don't know whether Hyperterminal will work. Please let us know! Remember you have to switch RTS to control your HART modem's direction.
